3spd Auto Trouble

Hey all, I have a 3 spd auto, and lately, it won't shift into idle. It'll stay in gear, except when I'm warming up.

Someone told me it's my torque converter, I think it's the throttle. Any suggestions??

Wont shift into idle or do you mean Neutral ??

With the engine off,can you move the shifter through the gear positions - if yes - shift mechanism ok.

Check the trans.fluid level with the engine running - is it at the right level ??

Does the fluid smell burnt or very dark in colour ?? If so - probally a problem with the clutch/brake packs inside the trans.
