Gen 5 Gti Exhaust

just found my standard gti is blowing from the front pipe. i think its on the flexi pipe, dont really fancy payin mrT for a new section so was wonderin if any one has bought a aftermarket performance exhaust and do they hay flexi pipes?

im hoping the hole has summin to do with the horrible 'rasping noise between 3-3500 rpm?

its a uk car so has no cat (1990). was wodering if the performance ones had a flexi pipe, if they havent then i will cut mine out n weld a pipe in.
