Hello

Being a new owner and not owning one in the past I'm new to the joys of the celica and the repairing side of things. I have been quoted £150 by Toyota to change the headlight units over from the current L/H to newly purchased R/H units.

What I would like to know is....

1. Do you think this is resonable or could I get it cheaper elsewhere?

2. Is it a major job to do?

Cheers

Baasie, hi i'm not overly sure what you are trying to do but take it you want to remove your headlights and replace with new ones. Yes £150 is taking the p1ss. You can do this mod yourself. Disconnect the Battery first.

Disconnect wires from back of lights,

Personally I would remove the front bumper but you can get a friend to pull back the side corners (held in by 1 screw at the seem) to give you access to the bolts, then work your way around the head light removing the bolts, you will need long extension sockets to access some of the bolts as they are aquard to remove. then simple case of swapping around and doing everything all over again in reverse.

As long as you take your time, think things through you will be ok.

If you are swapping the stock lights for the Xeon HID type, there may be a bit of wiring involved.

Sorry sotal I should of given you all the info. The car is a british car RHD which was shipped to germany for the british forces. LHD lamps were factory fitted but now the car will be back permanently in england i wish to revert back to RHD lamps....

  • 1 month later...

Got the new lights fitted for £50 in the end, not bad I suppose as bumper had to come off.

Anyone know where I could advertise the L/H headlights that i no longer need??

Thanks in advance
