Revamping my recently acquired Celica 2.0 GT Cabriolet (not import) I'm wondering where they all are - I found the vehicle difficult to source in the first place - there doesn't seem to be many around - but I did think that there might be some on this website!! Any other cabriolet owners out there? Mine is the double circular lamped version not the popup older version.

Probably waiting for the summer to come along so they don't have to worry about a leaky roof :)

Nice cars though and welcome to the club, look forward to seeing it in the flesh....

There's one on my drive next to a GT and my ST205.

Pop up lights were Gen 4 and 5. Yours is refered to as a Gen 6 (6th generation).

Did you get an auto or a manual? I'm looking for a manual which is proving rarer to find. Nice manual in red with the GT4 front. :D !Removed! magnet.

i have a 1992 2.0GT in cabriolet generation 5 i to have never seen another one on the road anywhere that is why i brought one unlike all those hairdresser cars MX5's although i would welcome any information as to BHP and performance figures as they seem very hard to come by all i have been able to find is on an american model which had a 2.2 engine as well

Is your car a UK spec model? I wasn't aware that the UK got the convertible in gen5.

The Celica convertibles in standard and G type form were made by ASC Inc in America and based on the 2door model (not liftback), powered by the 3S-GE with power of 165ps. So performance will be similar to (but not as good as) the regular model.

Abs was standard on the G type and all Japanese models had 4ws.

(the 2.2 engine was the 5S-FE for america)

Hey, I've just bought one! Very lovely to drive - a red 96 Gen 6 UK version, manual of course. I found only a few in my search, but would love to know of other owners out there. I'm in Somerset.

At over 30 grand list price when new I'm not surprised they're rare!

Well, noone pays list price do they? ;)

List price for a 1996/P was £29,807.

Just before they stopped making them they were £31737

If you want to see it I'm going to be at Japfest

No mods, slight dent in wing & crack in rear light, oh well.

Convertible searcher, you have just found one.

I am a new owner, and I just know this car is special.

I bought it on sat 13th mar.

I need to find out as much as poss, new owner remember.

it's a 6th gen 1995 Nreg silver 2.0 GT.

I can tell you that a new made s/top cost £380.

That's all I know. First job are the wheels.

They are 215/40/17. and losing chrome.

P.S. I sent message out earlier, before I saw this.

I bought a 1987 2000gt cabriolet red, on saturday, body work in mint nick, engine solid, gearbox crunching second, new roof but rubbers poor, slight leak as the drivers window leaves a 5mm gap when closed, everything works, my first convertible and my first toyota, i have lots of questions, anyone got one?? anyone had one??

this car looks stunning and seems rare, is it??

i did look at a 96 model, too modern, Ive seen 3 on the road already, I also looked at a 92 & 93 import, no history and pretty tired looking, got what i wanted, a UK car in loveley condition, somone has loved this motor. now its my turn.

totally original, will i spoil it with an induction kit and stainless (quiet) big bore, do i need to? it's rather nimble for it's age.

Still waiting for the sun.

Hope to make it to Bolney.

Well, we sure got some now! Did you make it to Bolney? Hoping to see another convertible at Japfest - I'll be on the Celica Club stand - busy polishing & fettling - nowhere near ready!
