hi,

I have just orderd an Apexi rev/speed meter for my 2nd gen paseo, Thought it might be intersting to see the diffrence in bhp and performance ie. 0 - 60 time from my old stock paseo to my 4efte turbo conversion. Think im still going to be shocked on the diffrence! Still feels very quick for a paseo! :o

I am still very tempted to do the conversion aswell. How much do you think a basic conversion would cost? you said yours cost around 5k, id rather wait a couple of years(wait for insurance to drop) and get a more powerful car. if i could get it done for less than £2000 then i will get it done asap lol.

I cant wait to hear the results of your performance difference

well i mean you can get the engines for £1000, just need to find a good and cheap garage that'll fit it for you.....or you could do it on your own....

im definitely gonna do the transplant, probably on my own to practice, but i dunno if i should get a 5efhe and turbo it (because i heard its a better platform for turboing) or just get the 4efte...

i would find out how much the shipping and import tax is as i had to pay £450 just to get it through customs. i would try and do it yourself but only if your good with car electronics. i had to re-wire the whole thing as it is completelty diffrent on the 2nd gen paseo's. i wouldnt go for the 5e turbo as its not a good engine to turbo just go for the 4e. alot stronger.

Thats the only thing thats worrying me is the electronics, i could easily do the engine myself as i did an engine swap in my old escort, but it was the same engine going in so the wiring was all the same

Give me a shout if you get stuck - although as you've had yours rewired it's probably different to mine!

I miss my RSM... theiving scum bags. :(

Actually just thought are you getting the G-sensor with yours? If not I have one you might be interested in buying - I was going to put it on eBay.

how is it that we can get the 4efte here for almost half that price, and we don't even get starlets????

Cos we get shafted on everything here :(

We always seem to pay higher prices compared to other countries, if I remember right a new Nissan 350Z costs about 7k less in America ;)

actually, after being in america, i found that everything there is roughly half price.....in that the price of something in america is the same price as what it is in £ in america....like a burger at bk is $5 in america, £5 in england....which is around $10 in england :S
