Alloy Wheel Refurbs

Greetings

Does anyone know if there are any decent companies in the NW/Manchester area that do alloy wheel refurbs?

Also does anyone know how much it costs roughly?

Cheers

Your Toyota dealer might now do it. Mine does.

I'd check the cost very carefully against other companies first though (that's when all the suggestions come flooding in!).

Yeah, can't imagine Mr T being very cheap!

It's nowhere near Manchester, but there's a company near me that does an excellent service with alloy wheels.

Deliver the car to them at 9AM, they remove all the wheels and tyres, blast the wheels, powder coat them, refit the tyres and balance the wheels. Pick the car up mid afternoon. £150

They do a range of colours and finishes that can up the price slightly, but even they are all done same day.

Yeah,

They are called Romax in Stockton on Tees, Cleveland.

Like Rich said Romax are the dogs'. Had my wheels recenlty powder coated in anthracite and after dropping the car off at 09:00 the wheels were ready just after 13:00. Top quality finish. All the Mr T's around here offer wheel refurb etc but they just call in these sort of specialists (and add a bit of £ on top).

Yeh VW do that, its like

"We can do your wheels"

"O okay"

Sends car to an independent specialist, they charge VW, they charge you more on top as if they done it. Cheeky buggers.

I think you'll find that most places do that though. There's a lot of specialist equipment needed for such a job, so it's easier to 'offer the service' for a small fee than set up to do it themselves.

At the end of the day it's a case of sub contract the work out or tell the customer you can't help them and risk them not coming back.

there was a mobile wheel refurbishment company that would come to your workplace or home in a Sprinter size van, I'll try and find the name.

Crisis is right about the price. mine was done 4yrs ago £120 all-in done in gloss black, was looking good up till last year when I kerbed two of them

Cool!

Cheers people, technically i only need 2 doing but i'll get in touch with some of these people and see what the deal is. Romax sounds good, just need an excuse to trek up there!

Might go in half term because i'm off work all week B)

There's a company in Leeds that I used once - 30 quid per wheel and they did a really good job. Local Toyota dealer arranged it all for me so they gave me a courtesy car for the day while my car was off the road - I don't know if they offer any sort of "pickup" service.

There's a place in Barnsley called Metal Magic I used once too - they did an excellent refurb job but they didn't balance the tires properly afterwards so I'm not going to recommend them.
