can anyone give me a breif description on how the 'heat grading' works on spark plugs?? and whats best suited for my rev3?

looking to give it a bit of TLC with some new ignition gubbins, its got NGKs at the minute, not sure on what type though.

also are std toyota dizzys the best or are there better equivelenets

also what type of HT leads does it have, looking on fensprts theres 8 and 5mm (with some optional 8.5 upgrades) i assume mines 5mm being a 'late' engine

As I'm running slightly higher boost, I'm using TRD Iridium Grade 7 plugs... which are 1 grade colder than stock.

Quite expensive though.

The grades varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, e.g. for NGK the lower the grade number the colder it is making it more suitable for higher boost settings. Stock is equivalent to grade 7NGK and one step colder is 6...some manufacturers go the other way round with the numbering though!
