I saw one just this evening on my way home from work between Cardiff and Barry with a patrol car in the layby on the other side of the road just waiting to take off. Pointless being there really as it was nose to tail at 30mph in a 50 limit :o

Something else that I heard today was that the traffic cameras on the Welsh section of the M4 are going to be used for continuous speed monitoring :ffs: :ffs: :ffs:

Cardiff to Barry passed the Chemical Plant, it's always busy there, why put up speed camera's ???

Get off the M4 and use the A48 and country roads, much more fun :)

Just for the boys in dorset theres a mobile standalone camera that keeps appearing on Carberry Ave in Southbourne, dont know if its a gatso jobbie or one of those newfangled taxdisc/regplate checking ones

check out speedtrap bible for more info on the techie nasties the plod are using :bookworm:

love the new smilies

This was just outside Wenvoe - only use the M4 to get to work so I don't have to drive through the outskirts of Cardiff - that's all stop start and plays havoc with the fuel comsumption

lol used to live in Wenvoe, went to the local primary there years back :)

also lived all around barry , llantwit major, dinas, penarth and the city, oh and more recently st. mellons.... Never had the joys of living in Splot though....

Am guessing the splot copter is still a regular occurance :)

Because of the enhancement and development of the Cardiff Dockland area (ooops! that should be Cardiff Bay now - or the Council will arrest me :o ) Splott is almost an up-and-coming place to live these days. Not quite there yet but I can see it happening.

The chopper is still a regular visitor to the Cardiff skies but it's all over the place these days - saw it over my house (in Whitchurch) just a couple of minutes ago. It's probably monitoring traffic coming into Cardiff for the FA Cup Final tomorrow - it was nose to tail outside the house for about an hour longer than usual tonight - cars with flags and scarves and mascots hanging out of them. Still it's a chance to see a few cars that we don't normally see around here - Maseratis, Bugattis, Lambos - some of these footie fan must have pots of cash :ph34r::ph34r:

Good luck tomorrow at the Combe - go give it some

Thanks for this thread guys,

It probably just saved me my licence yesterday as i saw one in a layby, and yes i was going just one or two miles an hour over the speed limit before i saw him.

Its amazing how fast you can brake when you really need to though! :D

These days it's getting rather stupid to speed....

Don't know who this is but thought it was amusing photo as the clock obvoiusly can't show a faster speed....
