right, just brought a standard starlet turbo and it desperatly needs an induction kit, dump valve and exhaust. but i dont know which ones to get!

ive about £200 for a dump valve and want a very loud(tunable if possible) atmospheric one.

i'd like a cat back system which sounds deep, not raspy and have about £300 to spend, would a custom 1 be better than one off the self? if not then which off the shelf one would you recomend?

i dont know what sort of induction kit i want, i like the look of the hks dome type yellow filter, these would suck in hot air, but does it matter with an intercooler? or should i get a sheilded one? i have about £200 for a indouction kit.

so which ones should i get n where can i get them from? any veiws welcome

cheers, dayle

dumpvalve wise within your price range id go for the blitz super sound. if your lucky and can find a second hand one, an hks super sequential would be your best bet. both have some form of adjustment. depends also on the type of bov sound you are looking for? you may even prefer the sound of a piston type bov like a bailey?

a decat should be your first port of call then get a 2.5" pipe (or bigger if you want to tune more in the futere). backbox is entirely up to you. easiest way is to go to an exhaust place and get them to make you one up to fit on the car.

induction kit wise ive heard the apexi is good and so is the blitz (even though it is pretty big). k&n are ok and hks foam filters are meant to be a bit pants.

to be honest a universal filter would do. just make sure you have a cold air feed to it or mount it as far near the front of the engine as possible.

just choose what you think looks good as most perform pretty similarly.

hope this helps

Hi

With some careful buying, eg eBay etc., you should be able to get a bargain on the dump valve and air filter, and that could get you a spiffy exhaust.

thanxs... yer my m8s got a punto gt with a bailey piston dump valve and i love the sound, how different will the blitz and hks BOV sound?

i personally dont like piston type dumpvalves, but its up to you.

blitz is a similar kind of whoooosh sound but sounds a bit nicer, from what i can remember.

the hks is a high pitched kinda psssst sound which i personally prefer. only problem its very expensive.

You have a jap car so stick with jap comanys they know the starlet best problem that alot of people make with these cars as they are a jap import and tuning parts are not as cheap as most euro hot hatches

i just want my dump valve to sound loud and good, ive herd a few cars, my brothers subaru being one of them with dump valves that sound quiet and cheap, so u guys'd still recomend blitz or hks?
