Ts Repair After Engine Warning Light On

Took my TS on its first real long journey since getting it about a month ago. When I'm about 70 miles from home I get the orange engine shaped warning light coming on. Nursed the car back home (although it felt normal) and Mr T is now fixing under extended warranty. He tells me that its a Cam gear problem but its not too serious and is a straightforward fix. Has anyone else experienced this ? I'm worried that I may have caused some valve damage. Grateful for any thoughts

Ive only had this light on due to haveing a de-cat.

However if it has caused any more damage i wouldnt worry to much if its under warrenty, sure it will be fine.

i've had that light on due to a supercharger

but mine was due to low octane fuel.

like nizan said yours is being fixed under warranty so should be fine.

well seeing my cat is out my light is on, so i wouldnt know if there was any other serious problems.... which is probably a bad thing.

but the car is STILL going good after a supercharger conversion and running it low on oil after the charger came back off and runnin it with low water in radiator for 5min :!Removed!:

i couldnt understand why the car was sounding like a straight 6 then got to a friends house and checked oil or lack of. but the car is still going to this day :)

Thanks for the reassurance folks. Car should have been back today however Mr T says that he didn't realise how many components have to be removed to repace the offending bit so he'll need to keep it til tomorrow

Only one more day without my Yaris

Yeah, i have experienced this for an oxygen sensor i think!

It was something like that

I was told that light covers a whole lot of electroning bits and pieces and as long as its under warranty you'll be just fine i am sure :-)

Have fun and enjoy it when it comes back.
