i need some suggestions in what steps should i follow in upgrating the preformance of my GT turbo!!

what have you done to your GT?

i own a 1993 EP82 GT turbo. so far i have a full HKS Super Drager exhaust, a HKS Racing Suction kit and a Blitz Super Sound Blow Off Valve. with these mods you will definately notice the differance, the original airbox and exhaust are so restrictive.

my GT is also 1993s and when i first bought it i removed the catalyst converter, the muffler and fitted a custom made header, the only thing restricting the exhaust gases is the straight through back box, then i got a blitz air filter and a turbosmart blow off valve and the top speed limiter is removed.Now the GT blows away standard type-r's and GTI-R's!! i race it every sunday against VR6's WRX's but im in need for more power so i can challenge EVO's and STi's!! any experience tips and advice are welcome:o

Your TMIC isnt doing you any favours, especially if you plan on going boost up or big turbo..

Its too small to take anymore than 1bar off the stock turbo, without it being in-efficiant (plus the stock turbo can barely handle 1bar).

If you go FMIC, you will get much better results, but more turbo lag so this could effect the cars peformance, depending on how you use the car. For street, its not ideal but for Track and Drag, FMIC is fine.

If you wanna keep TMIC for response purposes, let me know and ill get you a link to the Best TMIC for the money.. Comes from Japan however..

After that, or whenver really, you need to consider your turbo. The stock CT9 is ok, but for its size, its pretty laggy and runs out of puff at 1bar. Not good if you want to destroy the faster cars... You have a few options, depending on your pocket. Cheapest on most effect would be the Mazda GTX turbo (t25 equavalent), Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator and a bigger fuel pump, along with an FCD... Dont just get an FCD and then think you can whack the boost up, cus you will blow your engine (if you want me to explain why, let me know)... Fueling is all important on Starlets...

i havent concidered changing the stock turbocharger cause im using the car as a daily transport, i was thinking of instaling a much bigger front mounted intercooler and working on ither aspects of turbo(such as pressure drop in compressor side and turbine side) if i eliminate these pressure drops the turbo will have to work less hard to provide the boost i need,(12-13psi) should a clutch disc make a difference noticable on 400m racing? also will it be good on upping pressure to 12psi and fitting a fuel pressure regulator? WILL MY CAR EXPLODE AND ME FOUND DEAD ON THE FIELD BESIDE THE TRACK?:)

gls: Forgot the Email for the TMIC guy, ill dig it back out! Sorry for the wait!

Panic: The stock Pump, injectors etc can easily run 12psi from a stock turbo. You can push 14psi with a good Exhaust/Intake system.. Fitting an FPR cant hurt, but may not be essential? You're car wont explode, cus your ECU will cut fuel at 14-15psi :)...

An uprated clutch should help in theory, but unless you lauch right, you may get more wheel spin as the clutch clamps harder and will apply drive quicker.. If that makes sense :D

hey guys!!! my car is a starlet gt 92..i just wanna ask if i can fit the stock injectors of a 1g-gte supra to my car?is it bolt-on? how about the i/c of the supra.is it good to ptu it ony starlet>tnx...:):)

Hey im thinking, ive got a 1990 gt turbo starlet and my friend has the same. He's gonna be changing his stock itercooler soon and i gonna take it and at it to my car. will this increase my car performance? ive got one of them big bumpers on and wanted to put oth of em in the side of it instead of lights. I also would like to know how to up the boost an remove the limiter.

what year supra did the 1g-gte come out of. here in america we only got the 4m,5m,7m, and 2jz. i know in japan they have the 1jz which is a 2.5L twin turbo engine they used in the mk3 supras. i have a stock ct26 turbo and stock 7m-gte injectors. will these fit on to the scarlet engine. do i need a custom exhaust manifold to fit the ct26. also i have a stock mk4 1994 supra intercooler. will that fit and work with my scarlet engine. do you guys know any place where i can buy scarlet parts that will ship to america. it sucks being the american in a forum where there are little to no americans here.

Yeah but Starlets are old grannies cars br4. just a shopping trolly with a lame turbo strapped on. :lol:
