Car Squeals On Full Lock

Strange problem.

whenever i put my carina e steering into full left or right lock there is a squeeling sound.

car can be stationary or moving (ie reversing) other than that its fine

anyone got any ideas.

that would be the power steering pump..

Check the power steering fluid is full, and other than that, i dont think there is much else you can do..

Mine makes exactly the same noise - nothing to worry about. It's not a fault.

you will find its the power steering belt slipping underload or its stretched , either tighten the pump as you would an alternator or replace the belt and then tighten the pump to suit.
