The Standard Head Unit

is the standard head unit capable of running an amplifier, set of 6x9's and a sub? aswell as the four front standard Speakers??....

how so? would the amp not be powering the extra Speakers????......i thought the only thing that the head unit would be controlling would be its 4 Speakers and an amp.... the amp does the rest?

Yeh I read the standard hu doesn't have any pre-outs.

The standard hu doesn't hae any preouts, but if i'm not mistaken you can connect an amp up to it, just not quite sure how. I think breezer used to have his amp connected up to standard hu. But the sound quality just won't be as good at higher volume levels as would be with an aftermarket hu

You need an amp with speaker level inputs

not worth it, a crappy kenwood jobbie is better and easier

its more than possible if you dont want to mess around with an aftermarket unit

and as dougs says you need an amp with high level input capability which most of them have this day

or.... an RCA converter, which takes speaker input and boosts it to RCA levels and then you do the normal connection with RCA leads

I do indeed Ryan.... I have an Alpine V12 and 2 infinity 6x9s hooked up to standard HU... no sub tho...

why should there be a problem? i did it, i powered a sub and four Speakers! worked fine for me
