Belt Or Chain?

just brought my starlet so im gonna get it serviced straight away so i know where i am with service intervalls etc. so what i want to know is do starlet gt's have a cam belt or chain? cuz if its a belt ill get it changed. does ne 1 know?

It has a cam belt.

Has to be changed every 100.000km's or 5year.

thanx, il get it chamged then, where can i buy belt kits from? will my toyota dealer sell them?

If i'm right the belt kit from a 4EFE is the same as the 4EFTE.

Toyota will be able to supply the belt. They are available aftermarket too, but be careful as some of the makes aren't as good as others. Don't be tempted to buy a cheap one........get a good one and it'll last and be reliable. Toyota official parts are the way to go if you're in any doubt.

Gates are also good, the original belt is goodyear. well it was when i took it off!
