submitted my phone no to a website breakers place.. had loads of places phone me up... lol. Getting cheaper too .... best price so far was £200.

Any warranty on it??

can the synchros be changed individually ?? Is it the 5th gear synchro that I'll be hearing battering about inside the box ??

Yeah, but if you go to the trouble of stripping a gearbox, you want to give it the works, i.e. a full recon. By the time you have it apart it isn't worth the bother not to. A good gearbox specialist should be able to quote for the job. It may be more expensive than buying a s/h replacement, but it ought to be as good as a new one. Gearboxes seem to be a weak link in the rev 1 and 2 tubbie, buying a s/h one would be a bit risky IMO.

Its all well getting a quote for £200 for the box... its the fitting price thats gonna kill you!

Fitting wont be a problem... i have a very good mechanic mate....cheap as chips :yes:

As mikeB said a recon box will be better in the long run, but it depends how long you intend to keep the car.
