Facelift Indicators Question

Just fitted a set of the facelift clear front indicators to replace my old orange ones.

Does anyone know what the clear section on the end is for?

Obviously a bulb goes in there next to the indicator but what is it?

Sidelight?

Any info would be hot as i'd like to wire it up. Cheers Peeps

A few peeps have connected these up as sidelights.

Just out of interest, did you buy new wiring looms, or did you use the ones you originally had on.

The original wires arent long enough to reach the new lights as they sit a good few inches forward compared to the old ones.

So i cut the wires and added a few inches of new wire to make them reach

Wicked. I never understood why peeps bought a new set of looms. Got quite a few 'minor' plans for mine, once the weather gets better and the indicators was one of them!!!

Good stuff If i was you though i would get genuine toyota facelift indicators ;) The ones on eBay arent as nice. Envy supplied me with genuine toyota facelift indicators and also genuine toyota clear repeaters

With TOC Gold Discount the whole lot came to about £100 :D

Just gotta wait for some new bulbs to come before the install is finished, but soon as it is i'll post the pics up in my garage

btw before i forget its not just the loom that needs lengthening to fit the new style indicators.

You also need to drill a small hole in your bumper so the bracket fits, and the bulbs and connector from the orange lights doesnt fit the back of the new ones. I found this out today , so i'll be onto Toyota tomorrow to order the newer bulbs and connectors.

And after this post i'll also order the side lights too
