Short Shifter

Hi. I jus wanted to ask if anyone knew where i could find a short shifter for a 92 corolla. I have been looking all over and cannot find one. I can find one for the 93 but would that fit? or do i absolutly need it specificaly for the 92. thanks for the help.

do you have the AE92 or AE101?

A 92 corolla can be either with the facelift change, not sure if they are any differences between the gearboxes, but you should be able to pick up one from eBay for the AE92 or AE101.

ive got one from eBay for about 15 quid its for a 101 but think it should fit

take your old shifter out and take it to a machine shop and get them to move the ball up by 1/2" for a decent throw. ;)

dont try and do it yourself it takes for ever and you really need a 4 ton press LOL

Showing my ignorance, what is the benefit of having a short shifter?

The short shiftter will shorten the length of the throw, if that makes sense. Lets jus say its gonna make quicker shifts.

Only -97 or older

edit: just came in to My mind; My rolla has same engine and i think gearbox too as 2002 models... Any chance e12 TTE -kit would fit?
