Hi i have just bought and had installed an apexi rev/speed meter with a g sensor. Been trying out some 0 - 60 times and they are very impressive for a paseo! the top 5 times have all been in the 5 second mark, with the fastest of 5.61 seconds! thats running 16psi of boost, the rsm also gives a power reading of 204ps which is 210bhp. the apexi rsm is very accurate with the optional g meter attached. I have also driven with a friends celica gt4 wrc and they have a 5.5 second 0 - 60 time, the paseo stayed with it to around 100mph!

so i am very pleased with the conversion, but i am destroying the clutch and tyres quite quick! :ffs:

:eek::drool: 210bhp very impressive mate,

You must be so happy with your 1.3 lol

Are you going to put a racing clutch in?

Tim

Posted

yea it is quite mad from a 1.3! the ps reading im told is a estimated figure, but still accurate with in 4 or 5ps eithier way. but on the gtturbo site they are getting 170 from only 13psi and an exaust, so with all the extras i have i would imagine it is quit accurate still.

think i may need a clutch later but lack of funds at the moment!!!

impressive man!

i dunno though, more than 250hp in a fwd is just overkill so i doubt going much over what you get is intelligent. man, im hoping to get my car as fast as yours, or faster, some day

put an lsd on that (i am a idiot... i swear) and i could see you dropping that 5.61 by another couple of tenths or so

sweet dude... 210bhp... thats awesome!

i'll have that engine one day!!

what fmic is that dude?

Rich.

What turbo are you using? Standard CT9?

I'm not quite sure I believe the power figure, I'd take it to a proper rolling road and see what it gives then. You'll get a printout of the proof as well.

Andrew

Toyota Sera turbo, TOMS T082 ECU, Blitz air filter, Bagpuss airfreshener

possibly soon: hybrid CT9 and FMIC & manifolds

i agree with andrew, i mentioned before on other threads (and on other sites) that i don't really trust these g-meter's, power meters etc, but ive been silenced repeatedly, but i mean if you read the description, they all say " horsepower / speed etc... is sensed via the cigarette lighter socket "....

and andrew, what's that tom's ecu if i may ask (piggyback etc..), will it work on a 5efhe?

Posted

The TOMS ECU is a Starlet turbo ECU thats had an extra board fitted by TOMS RACING in Japan. It removes the speed cut, the fuel cut and has selection of more agressive fuel and ignition maps.

Will work fine on a 4e-fte but not really worth doing on a 5e-fhe. You could fit a fuel air computer and get a smidge more power, but personally I'd put that money in the savings fund for the engine swap like myself and Paseo96

how are you pushing 16 lbs of boost on a 4e? have you forged everything, or just risking your car's life?

well im still undecided whether to do the 5e-fhe swap or the 4e-fte because i heard that 5e is a better platform in the long fun for turbocharging and there's that 300hp 5e-fhte as well... i dunno, i suppose it'd be cheaper to do the 4e-fte but im more lenient towards the 5e-fhe cause its cheaper to transplant....ahhh

yea i also think more power would be stupid, especially considering the weight of a paseo, and yea an lsd is needed badly i am getting alot of wheel spin, in first you cant use full throtle at all!

the inter cooler is from a company called A&H Fabrications.

the bhp reading is quite high but considering what other people have im not sure. wouldnt be suprised if it was around that mark, especially if you drove it! but there are a couple of us going to a rolling road soon so would be very intersting to see what it actualy does have.

oh and yea it is the standard ct9, just been looking at some boost regulators as i want to drop the boost preasure down quite abit, was thinking about putting the cat back on to keep it at 9psi untill i have enough money to buy a boost regulator.

But still loving that 5.6!!!!!!

i hate you :censor:

mate that sounds mint. i stripped your engine and found that number 4 had the loose bottom end Shell the big end was :censor: loose. but i have fitted my engine and the alarm is :censor: me about.

Thats the thing - its a standard CT9 (unless its a modded one and you don't realise it.

Looking at your other mods, I'd say probably around 160 myself, but I'd like to see the results of the rolling road test.

how much did the labour cost you on the convertion?

Posted

All i can say about this is 'God damn!!!'

Posted

nice one backewell, glad to here its all in there! what wronge with the alarm?

the turbo may be modded, but not sure, it does spin up very quick, practicly as soon as you touch the throttel its at 10psi. jsut looking at where i could get it rolling road tested now.

there was no labour as i did it my self apart from the wireing which was done by a mate, jb.

All i can say about this is 'God damn!!!

yep!!

I think 210bhp would be impossible on a standard CT9. It its a hybrid or hiflow, then that is more possible.

My turbo still standard (for now!) [hoping to get a hybrid CT9 shortly and a fmic to go with it]

Andrew, what will you do with the bonnet scope if you get a fmic?

Will definatly be at JAE this year!
