Hello,

My Dad is going to get me a Starlet as my 1st car, I don't want to follow the pack of Corsa types.

Anyway, I want a 98 SR.

The 97 cars show to have a 69 bhp engine and the 98 cars a 74 bhp engine. Quantity in this case does matter.!

How can we tell the diff between a 69 hp or 74 hp engine.

He has found a 98 CD, all the goodies, but no alloys. I have been told that if I fit rims to a car that did not come with them as standard, my insurance will be higher, is this true.

Also the spec for 97 CD shows 69 bhp, but no spec available for 98 CD.

Is there much diff between a CD and an SR.

Look forward to hearing from you guys with some help, and maybe see you while I am whizzing around..!

Thanks

Natalie

all 96-99 starlet are at least 74bhp, if anyfin, it has been said that the post 98 models may be a little over 80bnp. But i am certain that these starlets are all a minimum if 74bhp.

I sued to hav1 :-(

yeah agreed with starlets with 74bhp in a 97 and 98, someone must of got their facts wrong. The SR bascially comes with all the extra's such as the 15" alloys, lowered 25mm, sports TTE exhaust, TTE rear spoiler and CD player i think. Electric windows, central locking and some might even come with an alarm. Oh yeah and the Black SR's are the limited edition one as you don't have black normal starlets in the UK. My cousin had to sign a name on the list to get one resevered when they first made them. he he.

Thats about it really.

Hou, You were looking at the Auto spec not the SR. It is not laid out well, but spec sheet looks to cover all the bits of interest. Just this 69 hp for 97 cars is peeing me off. I suppose only was is to call Toyota dealer to see if any engine mods 97 to 98.

Thanks

Natalie
