Malfunction Light!

Does anyone know what the malfunction light means? I checked the owners manual and it says take it to a dealer.When i called Toyota they say its the engine management light which only goes on if there is a fault with the engine or the fuel line.They were trying to book the car in and are charging £40hr labour just to loook at it.Does anyone know what the fault could be or how to get the light turned off?

I take it this is the engine shaped orange warning light. If so this warning apparently covers a multitude of potential problems and you should get it checked. Mine came on a couple of weeks back and it turned out to be the cam gear assembly - could have caused more damage if I'd kept driving for too long like this.
