What is the deal on right hand drive cars imported from Europe?

Does it bump up the premiums or are they treated as regular UK supplied cars?

Hi System...

I'm not sure, but I think it will be slightly higher as there might be detail changes.

I'm sure Blue will be along tonight - she never posts during the day.

Yep I'm here now! Like Alan says from what I know it may increase the insurance slightly..but I wouldnt expect it to be much. I've done a couple of claims at work with left hand drive cars being insured by us, so it can be done.

I dont do actual policy selling/set ups so I'm not 100% sure to be honest, best thing to do is call a broker/insurance policy and ask. Can you let me know what you find out too? I deal with actual insurance claims so dont get trained much on policies.

There is a car ideal for my next project on eBay going at a steel (so far), but only after viewing it did I find out it was an import from Cypris about 8 years ago. The car should hopefully hold it's low eBay price in order for me to get a bargain. But it is going to need a lot of work to get it MOT'd and I'd like to keep as much free funds available for the repair/restoration work ahead.
