Would this be any gud?

depends what you want mate.

if you want the hi pitch chirp, get the hks SSQV

if you want the "dooosh" noise, get the blitz SS

the greddy one sounds like the standard one, just louder.

i had the blitz one on my glanza, and it was a good bov, id recommend it. i may have the boost pipe to fit the blitz for sale. depending on how well my solida project goes.

who does recirculating ones? like the ones you hear on wrc cars? (i always thought the hks ones were " doosh " ones ???)

I have the blitz one and it makes the " doosh " noise.

Is there anyone that would be willing to record there valves dumping?! Im going to be choosing one soon and am torn between the Blizt supersound and the HKS SSQV. Ive heard that the HKS sounds more aggressive but is quieter at normal revs. Its oh so difficult to choose when you dont know what they sound like!! So if anyone would be willing it would be much appreciated! Or even a link to where it can already be found on the net?

Many thanks

J

all bovs are quiet at low revs, you need boost to make em fire off.

basically. do you want a whistle noise, or a lower pitch "dooosh" noise.

imo the hks one is so hi pitch it would annoy the hell out of me.

riko666, you can recirculate any bov, all you need to do is run it inot the air piping. but i have a feeling you mean the stuttering noise? this isnt the bov its the wastegate.

wastegates sound awesome. B)

ive heard they damage the turbo tho?

they're job is to protect the turbo ...

okay... i got that wrong!!

:lol::lol:

i'll have to learn all this stuff when i get a turbo!

i dont even have a turbo yet! but im a car fanatic since i was born so im learning as much as i can! hells yeah :afro:

Well, to be honest bud, being my first turbo car, im not entirely sure!!

I would like one thats quite loud, but I think as you said one thats too high pitched might get annoying! I quite like the sound of the Blitz one as it has these interchangeable trumpets that supposedly make it sound different? Obviously hearing them would help the decision but I think im expecting a bit much for people to do that - especially in this weather at the mo!! I know I wouldnt like to be outside trying to record the sound a car makes!! Whichever BOV turns heads the most will do me nicely!

Cheers all

im a fan of the chirping sound you get on wrc cars and on supercars like the bugatti eb110....aint a fan of the " doosh " sound, reminds me of the masses of chavvy escort driving boyracers, and all the other boyracers from the " fast and furious " cliche

The HKS unit OWNS all......my mate is gonna come round with his camera tomorrow to to give me a vid off of it.....I'll get him to record the noise of my HKS SSQV BOV :)

Posted

i personally have the blitz one. coz its not that bad of a noise.

the constant dumping the CT9 causes can get annoying. it will release every gear change over about 2000 rpm. and it does get tedious. you find yourself driving so slow, just to stop it dumping :P.

i use the sard dual chamber bov

did use to have the hks ssqv on there but prefer the sard

Posted

prefer the sard? i prefer the ssqv myself but got the sard cos it was cheap. im using the std bov now cos i got ****** off with the dump sound all the time. also my sard aint working properly yet, needs a bit more running in i think

Posted

you could try recirculating the sard one mate, would quiet things down a fair bit

Posted

yeah, but then that involves buying or making an adaptor to change it to a recirc one then ill have to adapt the inlet to the intake pipe. its far to much hassle when i can just fit my std one back on in about 5 mins :D

Posted

ok fair point

i thought you were hands on though :P. would be a mission though i admit. onl prob with the standard one is it just stops working after 10 psi.

Posted

but mines only running standard boost anyways so ill have no worries. if i was gonna up the boost i would go about making up a recirc adapter but i cant be ********ed if i dont need to ;)

Posted

i didnt think you were serious about keeping it totally standard.

i give it a year and youll be tinkering with it :P

Posted

i mite keep the decat on and get a decent stainless exhaust but thats about it. just need a std fpr and the engine will be standard. it will stay standard

Posted

what fpr have you got mate?

ive got a standard FPR on the front cut i have.

wanna swap? hehe

Posted

i dont really wanna swap but i will buy it off you if its for sale

its an FSE "powerboost valve"

Posted

its bleed valves that can harm your turbo.

My personal fav is the HKS SSQV. Super duper noise gthat makes me cry. :D imagine shedding tears on every gear change :D
