I know it sounds a silly questions, but is the Battery just flat? Does the key fob operate the alarm (do the indicators flash) and not the doors or does it do nothing - in which case a low or flat Battery.

Easy to replace the Battery all you need is a small screwdriver - the batteries can be bought in Dixons or similar. Only thing is do not remove the battery for more than 10 minutes or you lose the code (hmm not very technical but you know what I mean). Mind you if the battery is already flat they made need re-coding anyway.

If it is not the battery then.....who knows......someone will

i had this problem last week, the little red LED stil came on when i pressed the button but nothing happend, so i swapped batterys over as fast as i could... as i heard it needed recoding if there wasnt any power going through it for a certain amount of time, but anyway it did the job ulocked my pride and joy

According to the little sticker on the inside of my fob you get ten mins to change the Battery before the little fella goes kaput

As I understand the key fob works on a radio signal, the radio signal need comparatively more power from that Battery (to be strong enough for the car sensor to pick it up) than it takes to light the LED. So your LED will light and the locks still not work.
