HI Guys,

Well looks like I've got some wheels now. A 98 CD. It has got most of the goodies I need so I'm really chuffed.

But a little help is needed.

I want to lower the car and fit 15" alloys.

Is there any difference between SR or Turbo suspension, ie, stiffness and height, which should I get.

Also I need some alloys, a rear spoiler and clear lenses.

Toyota don't stock the spoiler any longer and could not help with the lenses.

I'm sure you Guys know all the places to get these goodies and more.!

I am so excited about getting out in my Starlet, I can't wait.

Thanx

Natalie

well if you wanted i could sell you my sr springs, and even fit them for a nice price so i can get mine lower

Lower ....?

By the look of it, you go much lower and it would be a submarine..! Looks cool though.

My Dad says, I have to get springs and Dampers together.

Thanks anyway though.

why gett them together when srs come with tte springs as standard!

and that pic is how my car will look as its a photoshop but for now its sr ride height!

you might as well pay out and get coilovers

If your after a Standard Starlet Spoiler, there often on eBay,only 30quid

As for the springs ,i know ep91/82 springs are the same ,but i asume if you fitted turbo ones your car would ride a little higher an/or stiffer, sure sum1 one with a better mind will tell you for sure.

the rear lenses...

Most ppl opt for the reflet ones,as there pretty much a straight swap (apparently, ordering mine 2moro) but they just require a slight bit of modding,as they are meant for a jdm starlet

J-d Off Gt Turbo can get sum very rare alloys if you give him time, but if not Potn.com have a nice site, gives you plenty of pics to look thru

Good luck!

Hope tht helps!

one thing id say, the turbo suspension is crap. car handles like a truck on em. they are crap.

If your going for suspension ONLy go for springs and shocks or coilovers.I have just springs(pi 40mm) and its pis* far to bouncy and burst my rear damper, but i will learn the hard way.Stick to buying ep91 stuff not turbo

Go back and tell ur toyota to do their job and go get you the clear lenses, because the standard Starlet GLS comes with clear lenses as standard, so there is no way they say they fricking don't do erm :P

Plus why didnt you just the SR as it comes with the rear spoiler, lowered suspension and nice size exhaust and nice 15" alloy rims, then ur done and dusted and no need to spend anymore on it. but the choice was yours i guess.

:lol::lol:

yer but most of the sr things youd change anyways, most ppl want lower than 25mm,most ppl will change the exhuast,an the spoiler tbh isnt tht much different to the other starlet spoilers, only thing id like is the leccys i suppose, but hey,end of the day u get wots gd an wotever price etc

Yeah i know what you mean captain. If she was thinking of changing everything then its fine getting the normal starlets with nothing on erm. But i tried keeping mine pretty standard :D cos it looks wicked. But the TTE exhaust had blown and was so wicked cos it was so loud, but i couldnt afford the TTE again. Also lowered but man i much prefer the standard 25mm ride as it was ssssoooo much comfy lol

I LOVE MY CAR  ;) :P

Oh by the way daddiesgirl, they dont do the side clear idicators for the starlet, so you have to buy the corolla ones for that :thumbsup:

as standard i agree the Sr is a nicer car i suppose, looks more sporty etc,an yer the clear repeaters of most new toyota's fit,jus look for the rectangle clear ones

an as for you woman :P " I love my car" shunt tht be "cars" lol :P damn u rich folk :P

Hey i ain't rich! You can call me rich if i owned BMW M3s then that's a different story :P

he he.

Thanks for your help Peeps.

We are getting there now.

StarletSR, I wanted an SR, but my Dad, who is buying me the car, thought that the CD he found would be good as it has a good spec and was met blue. he didn't realise that I really have to have the spoiler, alloys and sitting lower. Bless him, I can't complain as it is a fantastic 1st car and it's free. !

So hopefully by the end, I will have a full spec car with the SR style look.

I will now get the SR dampers and springs on your recommendation.

Also, what is the best way to achieve the smoked window effect. Is it a spray or a stick on film.

Thanks again for all your advice.

best way to achieve the tinted window effect is get it done professionally. i know so many people who have bought film/spray, and it looks TERRIBLE.

sr's use standard toyota dampers just stiffened Eibach (TTE) springs which give it a hard ride and good handling

get the coilovers that shelly got :arrgg-matey:

you should go for some kyb replacemnt oe dampers which are firmer compared to the toyota items which are prone to bursting.
