30k Service

Well my 30K service is just 500 miles away..question is...do I go with our "trusted" dealer Toyota...and what's it likely to cost...and how likely are they to say " the pads need changing...need new shocks etc etc... or do I go to my trusted local garage that has serviced all my other cars.

Trouble is....our new "modern" cars with all their computer wizardy...are beyond my local mechanic...who does'nt hvae al lthe gixmo's for every car out there.

I just know toyota charge soooo well over the odds...but is it worth it? They have done my last two services...and all has been ok...other than them not replacing the Battery in my remote at 20K like they are supposed to.

Is the toyota stamp in the book...really worth that much?

In a word 'yes'!

I'd take it to Mr T, they haven't tryed to do me over yet and I always try to watch them do a service so I can see whats happening aswell!

EDIT: Also, if they say this and that needs changed take it to your independant garage and get them to carry out the work, I needed my discs and pads changed and I got it back from my service from Toyota and they gave me a sheet with some quotes on it and I popped into my local garage and they done it for half the price! :D

I posted a topic about this a week ago, do a search. It cost me £97 for a 3 year (30000 service), but i had to Shell out another £20 for air filter and cabin filter too.
