Snow Chains And Off Road Tyres For Rare Wheels

I'm in the Uk and have just acquired a 2003 Land Cruiser. Love it to bits, but for what I thought was going to be a pretty capable all round vehicle I'm surprised by one problem. The vehicle is fitted with 265/65 17inch wheels. Apparently only the new L/C and the Jeep Grand Cherokee have this size. The problem is only one tyre is available for this wheel. And ..... it's basically a road tyre. Not even all terrain. How on earth am i going to be able to use it off road. Second problem is that nobody appears to make snow chains to fit this wheel.

Am I really going to have to change the wheels? Am I the first person to find this a problem?

It's probably worth asking on these sites, more chance of finding some one with the same problem.
