i have only been insured on my avensis for 2 days now.... and i am only insured until july, when either i will be selling the avensis for clio or something similar

BUT i am actually enjoying driving the avensis, its surprisingly quick for a 1.8 with it weight..

All i wpuld like to know, is can you get a lowering kit of springs for an avensis and also, if i fancy getting 17's can these be fitted without trouble with arch catching and scrapping>? :help:

No problems!

I have TTE springs on my 2004 D4D wagon (lowering 1 inch) and original 7×17 alloys and 215/45. No scrapping at all! Check www.tte.de

But I have to admit it was a bit of a disapointment since the the tyres are a long way from filling the wheel arches.

The T25 2,0 petrol and diesel can be legally fitted (at least in Norway) with 7,5×18 and 225/40, but I belive 8×19 is the way to go for the really cool look.

I have 18's with TTE shock's and spring's and still have plenty of clearance with my 215/35/18 tyre's

But the handling is amazing as i also have TTE anti-roll bars with new linkage ;)

Click the link in my sig and prepare to get a shock

The 30mm springs will be fine on your existing shock's if they are in good condition

ok,, that kit is pricey, around as pricey as it was to have my rover 100 lowered and individualised

Now how about if i just had some 17's say, would it still look like a monster truck or would they fill the archs a tad more on a standard susp set up?

or merely will the suspesion just stay the same i.e. arch clearance wise

#Cheers all

If you fit 215/40/17's tyre's then your arch clearance is the same as is your speedo because the rolling radius is the same as your standard's, it's just the car that is been lowered thus causing less bodyroll on cornering

So if you want to fill the arches then just go for a bigger tyre size but don't forget your speedo will then become even more inaccurate and you stand a good chance of rubbing and been able to get full lock

(btw i have a spare set of 17's that i might get rid off and a sebring back box with a 100mm chrome tailpipe ;) )
