Wales Meet

Whats done is done guys...

No use crying over spilt milk.

As aforementioned as everyone started dropping out it was decided between some of the last few people who were going, that it wasnt worth it.

Which was a huge shame and many were angry and sad.

Yes it didnt help that the weather looked dodgy, and yes it didnt help that there was a thread about possible cancellation.

These things happen, next time, and I am sure there will be one... I hope that we get the kind of support positively that is currently making this a negative thing.

Come on people, if some people on here (and it is certainly not limited to the Yaris crew) actually put the same effort into the positives as they did the negatives we wouldnt have these kind of problems.

Hope all makes sense, :P </end rant for now>

like the one that didn't happen! maybe it should start as a small yaris meet before buying camping gear

reece what is your problem? You weren't even going! Yes, it was called off at the last minute, but this was only due to the weather and the amount of people dropping out. Who could have predicted this weather appearing? Not even the weathermen could predict it, just look at the posts in this thread about the weather today. They are already contradicting each other. I know I wasn't going to the meet either (the fact that i'm the other side of Europe dosen't help at all), I feel compelled to say something. Fair play to earpl, he had put alot of effort into organising the meet. Routes had been planned out, campsite opened specially for the meet OUT of season, times for meeting etc had all been made. I oyu are capable of getting something like this together, then I think that the next time you should do it yourself. There's no need to criticise other people's efforts when you weren't even involved in the meet at all. In fact, I though that the meet was so well organised that I was possibly even considering coming over to the UK next winter if there is another meet so that I could also join in. In the end of the day it was a combination of things that postponed the meet, not just earpl, so don't start dissing him over it

Never a more true word has been spoken, Paphos.

Anyway, like JJ said, its done now, and next time we will know what to look out for when we plan a weekend away, hopefully the weather will be on our side for a start!

I'm not sure about everyone else, but i think we can just leave it at that now - and that means no slating Earpl (or anybody else for that matter) next time he arranges something that we can all enjoy, because it does nothing but get people riled up for no reason! And then we end up with threads canned etc.

So lets just leave it at that - We're all adults after all.

if the campsite wont open because of the small numbers hows that my fault....... and if people are going to have an attitude like that reece you right... Why should i **** bother................ i dont think anyone was looking forward to this as much as me, even though i lost my keys in 8" of snow on thursday and spent much of thursday night (in the dark) and about 6hrs friday morning just to find them so i could attend! i even went out and bought a fkin metal detector for £55, rather than waiting for the snow to melt. i really am hurt and upset from this. thanx to the rest of you ;) for your support and i say again "Im sorry about the weekend" :(

I think Earpl did a good job until people started taking the Mickey.

they started to drop out after the post about cancelling, then it was on, then it was off..... make your mind up and stick to it

anyone who tries to organise another meet should follow it through and maybe think ahead about when it will be due to the possible adverse weather........ if any

Im with earpl on his last post, so im adding my support...

Reece, you've been a tw*t to me before and i let it go... and that was in a case with which you had no standing and no knowledge of the subject... and once again you're saying all this crap to earpl and the rest of us when you

A. You had no idea about the organisation going on.

B. Weren't even going and didn't leave any details for contact etc if you were

C. Once again have no real reason for putting people down (earpl et al) and are being a total fuppin nob.

You were trolling before when you were a tw*t to me, and now you do it again for absolutley no reason...? What's your problem? You weren't going, it didn't affect you and it wasn't earpl's fault... so i say, yes, we are all adults, but this was worh saying.

The fenland roads around Peterborough can be just as unforgiving as the Welsh roads (gently undulating where the peatlike substructure has dropped away as it dries out or heaved up as it gets wetter) You never know what your going to get.

Many a good (or bad) driver has been "caught out" by fenland roads

Agreed Red.

MYslf and my manager usually visit our offices in Spalding every so often, to check up on everything oop norf.

Some of those roads are pretty damn nasty. Especially up that way, where you're driving down a main road, with a 10foot drop either side of the road!

And often at the bottom of that 10ft drop is a river or canal (and no armco barriers)
