Car Computer Monitoring

Has anyone had experience with or know of any Software kits for a laptop of palmpilot that you can connect to your car to get constant information output, i.e. horsepower, toque, miles per gallon readings, etc. ?

I've heard they exist, and would like to get some, any information would be appreciated.

It isn't feasable that the ECU would know what Bhp and torque the enigne is putting out, how could it ???

MPG possibly depending on system and other standard trip computer stuff ok....

I know on the MR2 you can short 2 pins on the ECU and get a read out of what error's are occuring on the dash but that's about it.

It is when you hook up a G-Sensor to the engine. Reasonably accurate too. Will give launch and time data also.

Worth getting an Apexi AFC and RSM if you're serious.

If you just want the not so fast and sexually frustrated effect then I'll dig out the software link. Most of the display software is for show only and quite frankly not worth a monkies. There is little point knowing what's happening if you can't change it.

Something that can give all these readings if incorporated with a screen is the HKS Camp system
