OK so the sump is now off, we should have held a sweepstakes to see what we could find in it....

We found, part of the Oil Pump which had shattered...

Piston Ring....

Piston Bolt....

And the remains of the Shell bearing....

There is a silly amount of metal floating around and a lot of work to do over the next couple of weeks.... Of course more photo's will follow as work progresses....

There will be a load of pictures here when I can ftp them up later today with the pictures of the actual piston, it's a complete mess....

All I can say is that work is well under way to get the engine up and running and we'll keep you posted....

I thought we should post a quick R.I.P. for the '73 Celica as we knew it, it'll be back bigger and better than ever, Elvis will return to the building.....

But remember it was fun the 5 minuites before hand.... i was talking to a mate today and he was telling me of this old type car that went round early in the day and all he said is how funny it was to watch as it 'squirmed' all over the track.... that was his memory of the day.... oh and mine B) cheers for the lift!

Hey guys thanks for those replys! Ive gotten most of the engine bay stripped now, even repainted some of it. It was gonna be impossible for me to match the colour (except at great expense - which id rather through at the engine) so i went for a silver instead (we wont mention its a vaxhaul colour :D ). So thats about it so far, just gotta wait for my machinest to come back from holiday , sort the rest of the engine bay out, and build a new engine (plus, not get i knotts with the wireing loom)
