Handbrake Light

my dad has a 52 plate avensis and the handbrake light seems to come on and off all the time even when the handbrake is off. anyone else had this problem before?

Check brake fluid level as the light has 2 functions, if low it's a good indication that the pads may be quite worn.

I HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH MY PREVIOUS AVENSIS GG. pROBLEM WAS DUE TO A VIBRATING HANDBRAKE LEVER, RATHER THAN ANY PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES.

TEST THIS BY HOLDING DOWN THE HANDBRAKE LEVER WHEN THE LIGHT COMES ON, AND SEE WHETHER IT GOES OUT.

HAVING THE HANDBRAKE CABLE TIGHTENED SHOULD SORT THIS.
