Lucida Midrange Hesitancy

Hi all

Can anyone help with this one - I recently put my Lucida in for a cam belt change, and it now suffers from a serious lack of power and acceleration between about 50-60 mph which it didn't do before! Also, if I try and accelerate more to overcome this, it kicks out loads of smoke from the exhaust. Around town or above these speeds it seems fine!

hi there, snap having the same problem,but my fault diognosis light is coming on as well,flash code 35, i have just book in for new cam belt, because i have been told the belt is out one tooth (timing on pump) which is common when changing belt, i have just bought mine with new belt fitted,pay peanuts you get monkies,you have just confirmed my diognosis,thanks hope this helps

Hi Barry - cheers for the reply, guess I will get it checked out hearing that. The job was done by a garage I've used regularly for years, although yes, I do get away with paying them peanuts!!! They did seem to struggle with it a bit!

Barry - FYI, the pump timing was out, not sure by how much but I took it to Toyota themselves and they sorted it out. Now runs good all the time - shame really 'cos I'm selling it now!!!!!!!
