Where are the corollas 4 door saloon and 5 door hatchback built?

The dealer I bought my 4 door from says Japan

The corolla NCV website says Japan

but another website claims Turkey??

Also how do I know when my car was built?

I dont understand the chassis numbers etc?

When I was buying my t-sport the salesman told me when asked - these are built in Japan.....

Mmmmmm after doing a bit of a search on this forum I discovered that information might not be correct.........

It was suggested I check out if my Corolla had a sticker in the top right of the windscreen.....

It does.........

It says "Bulit in Britain".............

Build quality, fit & finish is still just great though...........

Don't be fooled. The most of the parts are manufactured in turkey.

There is also there a big assembly line.

Some 4-5 door models come from japan. My e11 is japan because everything inside the car is written in japanese! I boughted in greece. No one greek would buy a car that it is produced in turkey because we don't get along with them(politics).

I thought that the Corolla was made in Derbyshire, UK?

There is a production unit in Derbyshire but the main production unit for europe is in Turkey! (You now... cheap salaries!)

ALL European 3 and 5 door Corollas are built in UK. TMMT (Turkey) only make 4 door wagon and verso models. We export a lot of parts to Turkey including body parts, engines etc. The Corolla has been built in UK since 1998, and is currently produced in 6 factories worldwide for different markets. TMUK is preparing to be the 'Mother' plant for Europe and is currently upping production to 285,000 units a year. Hope this clears up any confusion...Look here for Toyota UK website.

On the other hand how would you feel if corollas were built in Turkey?

Well thanks for all the answers although I still dont know where the 4 door

saloon is built. Im not very happy about it being built in Turkey as in Ireland

the saloon retails for 20,200 euros which is about £14 -£15,000 sterling.
