New Imports?

There appears to be loads of new japanese spec cars on the net but has anyone

actually bought a new japanese import straight off the production line or showroom? And how much money was saved? Were they any problems getting

servicing or parts? I wanted a corolla 1.3 but the dealer could not supply one.

I am considering import of a Toyota Harrier (RX300) or Corolla Verso (If I can find out what they are called in Japan. But the TOyota Harrier is almost 50% of the UK Price at about $31000 FOB JApan. I have a contact who is major buyer and can buy directly from Toyota Factory in Japan.
