Gearbox Oil For Corolla T Sport

I am wondering what type of oil Toyota garages should be using for the CTS gearbox ? Is it the same with 1.4 and 1.6lt Corollas?

My idea is that some gear shifting difficulties may be related to the gearbox oil.

If you have replaced it in a Toyota garage, could you please check your invoice for this information.

One definite difference with 1.4/1.6 Corollas is that CTS needs 0.3 lt more oil.

Transmission oil is an SAE 75W-90 or equivalent (API GL-4 or GL-5) your parts supplier should understand that You will need 2.3 litres for a complete drain and refill.

I would recommend that this be changed every 20,000 miles, even though the service schedule says that its changed at 40,000.
