Help! Vibration Problem 01 D4d Avensis

Hi all,

I purchased my Avensis last september currently 70k on clock.

I have a quite worrying problem, when i am accelerating i am noticing a vibration coming from the engine compartment throught the front of the car, it happens between 55mph and 65mph, if i accelerate to 60 in 4th gear and then change to 5th without accelerating further i get this vibration through the car, its almost like the car is chucking. I am convinced that it is not coming from the wheels as the steering itself is solid with no vibration.

As i said its like the vibration feels almost like the engine is slightly chucking, however the engine runs fine no strange noises, accelerates well etc.

It also is very noticable when i slow from 70mph to 55mph i will feel the same vibration.

I have ruled out the following:

1. I had my wheels balanced and checked no problems, but the vibration still persists.

2. Replaced fuel filter as i thought the engine may have been starved of fuel but

its not, as its fine in lower gears and above 65mph.

3. All engine mountings are secure and solid.

I am begining to think that there maybe a problem with the flywheel rotating off-centre as i have heard that some avensis have this problem and it may

have to be replaced, has anyone else noticed or had this type of problem, it is spoiling the drive of the car and is really annoying. I will have to once again go back to my dealer, but i would like as much info as possible before i do so.

Anyone any ideas??

Thanks for any help.
