Need A Little Help ^_^

Hey All!

I bought a new 1.3 T3 Yaris in June of last year... its my first car and has grown to be my pride and joy! Id always thought about modding her bit by bit but was unsure of what bits to buy first and what products would result in good quality for money.

My mates all mod their own cars and so i turned to one of em for a bit of advice... Ive decided to start by installing an induction kit and have some lowered springs fitted. The next step would be to fit some alloys and then install a new exhaust system.... but thats really getting ahead of myself!

I think ive decided on what products im going to buy and i just wanted some opinions about what ive chosen. Do you think these are good items or not? If not what would you recomend instead?

Induction Kit:

Lowered Springs: (the yellow APEX set at the top of the page)

Any help anyone could give would be great!

Cheers guys!

Good choice of induction kit! And not a bad choice of springs either!

Advanced question: When you get your alloys, what sort of size you thinking of getting?

As he said, koni is good. But if your getting them you may as well get the springs and shocks at the same time to save you money - £330 for them both, otherwise about £400 if you bought them sepearatly.

Hiya, It's good to see another T3 owner! :D What colour did you get?

Mine is going in part-exchange this week for a Yaris Blue, but it's still my pride and joy til it goes

Okay suspension wise 16" will be fine and you can go down 40mm if you want without problems.

So you can have 16" if you want

CRISPS!

Who or what the f**k are you?! I agree though, crisps are good!

Issues???

I fitted mine today to my Yaris....

Should I expect some trouble?

Yep! It's a closed air induction kit, AKA a wet filter... it will need cleaning after about 6k-8k miles, and need re-oiling, and the MAF sensor will need cleaning... but good luck and have fun when you're not maintaining it!

Wrong its not closed air mate, its just a wet filter, just dont oil it too much..

Ryan just had a big of bad luck and hes giving it bad publicity even though danny and lee (knightrider) had one on theirs for 8 months + with no problems.

That's good.

I'm used to wet filters, from bikes.

So cleaning and oiling is not a problem.

Ah well maybe I did have bad luck but it'll happen sooner or later I should think but when I had it, it did indeed make a wicked noise!

Hi mate and welcome to the club .. the Apexi is a great induction kit but sadly doesnt fit your model as it only fits the T-Sport and the 1.3 SR engines. I suggest you get the Greddy one which is just as good i would think and its a dry type filter so you dont have to mess about with cleaning it as its almost maintenance free like the Apexi.

Also check out envy at the top of the page as they'll sort you out with a cracking deal!
