Might buy this meter, and try both tests out

Standing test, and get my missus to stand on the path, while i give maximum acceleration over 60mph.

Should be fun anyway, but hope to god i pass !

Few of us from the company I work for (SimBin, creators of the PC racing game GTR), are planning on the 2nd May visit booked through EasyTrack.co.uk

Need to finish my upgrades (brakes, suspension, EmeraldM3D ECU), before I book it, but would be devastated if i drove 200 mile there to be refused entry.

50 quid for a noise tester seems like a good investment. Can anyone confirm if that Maplin meter would do the job, looks good to me.

Cheers

dont take it as law.

If your a little over they very rarely refuse you track time.

Which one you taking?

at first it's difficult to keep the turbo spooled up round corners, but when your confidence in the car grows you'll be suprised how quickly you can enter and exit. B)

Cheers, prolly risk the noise anyway even if my own tests fail by a small margin. I'll buy that Db meter from and flog it on eBay after I've tested.

Tubby is going to Bedford, the NA is old news really. Need to fix it up a little and its going up for sale.

Immensly curious to see what it takes to control turbo boost in and out of bends. Hehe, been practicing blipping for the last couple of months. Started off revving at 6K with the wheels locked heading towards a roundabout, got it smooth as a babies bum now. Once u get it sorted out, it becomes a normal way to drive. Its impossible now to change down without a blip, makes slowing down much smoother. Even doing it in the 1.6 Focus now (although its pedals are a bit far apart).

Going off topic a bit, but lol its Friday on the pop :)

yeah keep practising is the trick.

I still toe and heel rounds corners, it's not a natural experience but you get used to it. :)

infact trying to match your engine revs whilst changing gears combined with toe'ing and heeling was the hardest thing i've had to learn to do in the car.

"Heel and toe" Thats the bit that confused me a lot at the start.

U try actuall using your heel and toe, you would snap your legs ! Its more like 3 toes and the outer right hand edge of your foot. If someone told me that from the start would have picked it up a bit quicker !

Pmsl thats very true. :P

it's called "toe and heel" because back in the 40"s the the clutch used to be the middle pedal in the race cars. ;)

little bit of usless trivia for you there.

and yes that meant they braked with there left foot

something i cant do very well on go-karts.
