Determine Production Date Etc.

Hi

I'm still out looking for a used Yaris. Anyone know how i can determine the factory production date of the car? There's a metal plate in the engine room, is there a guide somewhere on how to interpret these codes, production location etc. I found a site about Corrolla codes, but the plate in the car I was dealing with looked different.

you can tell if its made in france or japan by the sticker in the windscreen

no. .by your serial number on the inside of the door..if its french it starts with VK..

Yup on the metal vin plate if the code starts VK its built in France and if its JTD then its built in Japan.

Yeah. the VIN info is the best way but I agree with you, the 'Made in France' sticker on the windscreen is a pretty big clue.
