Hi Folks,

I am new to this forum and also Toyotas.

I really need some help.

I have just bought an imported Motorhome on a 1978 Hilux chassis cab.

I am in the Motor Trade and need some info on what I can use for a doner to change LHD to RHD.

I need to know what in the toyota range is compatable to make this changeover.

I also might change the 2.0lt petrol to a diesel at some stage.

Please if anybody can help.

Thanks wilsonaj

 DEJA VUE

Its probably financially not worth the bother. Sometimes not really possible. There would (I think) be so may little things you hadn't thought of. For example you might have to change the windscreen wiper mechanism otherwise it would be like sitting on the passenger side and you might not see clearly. Will the wiring for the instument cluster reach the opposite side or will you need to completely re-wire.

If it were me I'd leave it LHD its no big deal, just get some headlights that dip the right way and live with it.

TBH i think converting a LHD into a RHD will be a nightmare and you will need to throw loads of money at it and for example the pic below shows my surf under going a heater matrix replacment but all the stuff you see will need to be moved if i wanted to made it a LHD or vicsa versa not a job i would want to tackle and ive worked on loads of Hiluxs and have loads of expericance with them.

It would probably be cheaper to buy a RHD Hilux and use your LHD as spares.

if you want to under go the conversion you can PM me and i'll try to help you.
