Rav4 Roof Spoilers

Can anyone help me source a rear roof spoiler for a 2004 Rav?

I think the one i want is actually described as a sun shield.

Any idea on prices?

Haven't got very far will Toyota.

Hi and welcome to TOC!

For sun guards, you can look at Formula 4x4, go to Shop Online and enter your car details and it comes up with a list of accessories for the Rav! They have a smoke sun guard for £54.90

The XT3 3door came with sun guard as standard so Toyota should have them as well, and they should also have a TTE spoiler but not sure about the prices!

I would not go for the sun shade one (It's made by EGR of Australia) it's very good at collecting water on it when it rains and when you open the rear door the rain water can end up in the boot/cargo area. I had this sun shade type spoiler on my previous 2001 RAV4 VX (Glad it was an extra with the new 2004 RAV4 XT4). They should have designed it with some holes in it to let the water escape, Ideal for Australia but not the UK.

The TTE spoiler looks good and intregrates with roof rails and need painting. If I was going for a Spoiler for my RAV4 I would either go for the TTE one or other Toyota one that the rest of world (Including Europe) seem to recieve which is better designed to let's the water and air flow through it properly.

Just a quick update, had a quote from my local Toyota place for a TTE spoiler,

£453.04

Think thats a bit high?

Anyone know of somewhere else in the UK i can get one?

The spoiler is listed and pictured on the Toyota Europe website under RAV4 – Configure – Accessories. Your Local dealer should be able to get it as it’s a Genuine Toyota Part.

Same problem with my dealer, I tried to get the In-dash Cd-changer and they refused but I argued that if it was listed with Toyota Europe, what’s was difficult about getting it, All the accessories including what they normally offer is sent from the Main European distribution centre in Brussels, it just didn’t make sense to me. I complained to Toyota Europe but all they said was they would look in to it.

After visiting a few other European websites it seems the individual countries in Europe are cherry picking which accessories to offer and not offer, Toyota Portugal offer the spoiler in question and the Netherlands openly offer things like the tweeters. Can’t find the logic behind offering some things and not the other.

This has been happening for many many years. I feel that UK often gets the worse selection of accessories for the RAV4 and we often pay fhe most for accessories as well. I believe but I could be wrong that Toyota GB has to approve of the accessories they want to offer before they offer them to sell and if they don't offer a particular accessory that is available in the rest of Europe is basically too bad. Also even if you have the European part number and if the Toyota GB EPC does not list it that is why Toyota Dealers in the UK say it's not available.

Though there is nothing stopping you from contacting Toyota Dealers in Europe and ordering parts for yourself and that is what I done over the years and not just from Europe.

:censor: just got my spoiler today and the customs have charged me £18.47 so now the postage is nearly the same price as the spoiler! so im a bit :ffs:

it will look nice when i get it fitted but!

hi there i got it done at toyota it was £130 sprayed and fitted.plus its still covered with the paint warrenty :)

if you get the spoiler from america you will have to pay import duty ...mine was about £18.50.

i noticed there is a spoiler like mine on eBay for £49 but dont know what the quality would be like!

yeah you have to drill 4 holes,but toyota stuck it on as well,so dont think it will come off easy!
