hey guys. Got some bad news. Last night my girl and I went riding down town and next to me on the traffic lights comes a nifty civic type-r. When the light turned green the civic wondered what flew right next to him :)

The bad news....

After a few psshhh here and a few pshhhh there..... I heard a worrying tapping in the engine. At start I thought it was a belt in the engine. Then I thought... could it be a rod tapping on the cylinder?

This morning... the tapping revealed itself. As I fueled up my car this morning (when i started the engine in the morning the tapping was more like bass than anything else) I noticed that when i boosted my car not much was happining. I was thinking "Oh the stupid car...lets check again..." . I shifted from 3rd to 2nd , boosted to about 6900 , and I hear a very shocking CLANK CLANK... CLAAAANK..... KABOOMMMMMM!!!! Next followed the wonderful engine lights and so on. I stopped in a left turning on the side and watched my car ejaculate its oil

The guy that sold me the car (also my mechanic) came after I called him... saw the damage and it went as follows:

Conrods SNAPPED! All 4 of them. and a nice elephant hole under the car.

PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN AND ARE WILLING WITH THE BELOW:

He says I shifted from a high gear to a low gear when in high RPM. Thats bull. No stupid plonk would do that.

I was thinking it might be overboost (im currently on 0.7 bar, quite safe). The guy says that if it was overboost , then the pistons would have died while they are actually in one piece.

What could have caused this ? I beat the living hell out of my woman's glanza and the car just says "MORE" .

Im so depressed about this. If your willing and have read till this point, please help im desperate.

Cheers and thanks in advance ...

Mario.

by the way TOC people,

The reason i want to know is because there is a dispute if it was my fault or not. Well it isnt. I didnt do anything that other glanza owners dont do. And to think of it , Anything i do with my car , i usually do with my wife's car.

I just need to know if there is anything else than shifting a lower gear on high rpm that can cause this. Thats what i DIDNT do.

oh and for aesthetic purposes.... Imagine if this happened to you.. (see below)...

Lots of oil from the elephant !Removed! that my conrod created....
