My Accident And Aftermath!

Ok, i'll not moan too much, but I need a bit of advice. Had an accident, white van moved over into me from outside lane to inside and took out wing, drivers door, mirror, rear quater panel. Getting it fixed on insurance.

Now heres the problem, told the insurance approved garage that it was an import when dropping it off. Week later, "oh, we ordered uk parts and have had to send them back as its an import. Don't know how long it will take to get the new parts now."

Can anyone advise what is going on and is there anything I can do to speed things up? :help:

wing - Jap version slightly different as UK has space for side repeaters.. although I think Jap later spec models also had it.

drivers door - UK/Jap should be same

mirror - Depending if you had electric foldy mirrors or not, should be the same.

rear quater panel - UK/Jap the same

I'm sure they could have stuck with the UK parts.

Thats what I thought too and since im adding on a border front bumper i will need the wing with the side repeater hole. Guess I need to get back onto them tomorrow.

Assuming it's the van's fault, you're probably looking at a payout of something in the region of £10 a day for the pain in the **** of not having your car. Thus there is the possibility of being compensated for being without your pride and joy.

This figure's not fixed though so expect the van's insurance co to offer less at first and bear in mind there's no reason why you can't argue for more given that you’re doing without a prestige car.
