Possible Clutch Problems

Although this is my 1st post, I have read the forum for a while and have found it most useful.

My GF currently has a T2 Yaris which we love to bits, before this we had a phase 1 model, both been brilliant cars.

The clutch on the T2 has developed a funny clicking sensation which you feel through your shoe when you take your foot of the clutch pedal (when its at the top of its travel). We had the same problem when the car was new, Toyota changed the master cylinder (?) for us which solved the issue, and this now feels exactly the same as that. Is this a common problem ? or is it just normal ? or do you think they may be another underlying issue. The car is an 04 plate with 9,000 miles, its due for its service soon and we will obviously mention to the garage then.

I have experienced this in some other cars & the info getting past kinda sounds like a RATCHET problem.

On the top of the pedal there is a ratchet which is joined by a spring & then to the cable. Not sure if this is the exact problem, but its something to think or ask about

On a related note...is it also normal to have the click when changing gears (i.e. the gearstick clicks)? Just asking cos a mate with a new Corolla has a really smooth gear change.

Could be a cracked pedal box. Have had this with my VW but not the Yaris
