"Existing 750K customers

We´re in the process of automatically upgrading your service to 2Mb. This upgrade is absolutely free and you don´t have to do anything to receive it. What´s more, the monthly price of this service remains the same. Check this page again for updates on when you will be upgraded."

do I need to drive to manchester and reboot the modem?

If you have a "Pace" set top box it will only handle up to 1mb. I phoned them up and complained as they are only upgrading existing customers set top boxes in April so on Monday they are coming to install a nice new Cable Modem for me :D

I work for a pretty large company *cough*IBM*cough* and I have a good bit of dealings with ntl. The speed upgrades have gone down well though not without the odd hiccup here and there. If anyone needs any advice I might be able to help where possible. :thumbsup:

Also, bit of useless info. NTL were one of the official testers of xbox live before it was released to the public. They were able to spend a lot of time 'testing' the network to see how it would cope with xbox multiplayer games. Anyway the word is that the XBox2 will be launched in the UK BEFORE christmas of this year to get a headstart on the PS3. If this means more testing I may even get the chance to have a sneek peek at the Xbox2 before launch! Will I ever grow up? I hope not. :ph34r:

Heres the info that I was looking for, if anyone else is interested

Broadband enabled STB

* 1Mbps Download—100Kbps Upload—3GB Monthly Cap

* 2Mbps Download—200Kbps Upload—30GB Monthly Cap

* 3Mbps Download—300Kbps Upload—40GB Monthly Cap

Standalone Cable Modem (SACM)

* 1Mbps Download—100Kbps Upload—3GB Monthly Cap

* 2Mbps Download—200Kbps Upload—30GB Monthly Cap

* 3Mbps Download—300Kbps Upload—40GB Monthly Cap

But there is a bit of problem with Downloading all day at full speed, when you get capped

1MB less than 1/2 days

2MB less than 1.5 days

3MB about 1.25 days
