the water system does not over heat or pressurise

there is no smoke out the exhaust

ive changed the spark plugs and new leads

it went away for a while but has now come back

ive compression test the engine and carn't anything wrong.

i can start the car sometimes and theres no problem but if i start the car and drive it to the shop etc turn off the car and leave it for 5 min go and start it up and it starts up on 5 cylinders then comes on to 6 sylinders

so i would bo most grearfull for any help and info you people could give me because i now have no idea whats going on with it

I have a spare Mkiii turbo coil pack, but there are differnt types!! I take it yours is the one with the seperate earthing strap? I also have the ignitor to match.

Pop the leeds out and look around the plugs, is there any moisure or oil there? the old 7Ms tend to leak oil and get the tops of the plugs oily causing misfires!

yes mate thats right i have the one with a single wire which comes from the plate on the coil packs and earths on nut on the inlet manifold.

ive checked the leads and replaced them i did have oil done in the plugs before and just replaced the cam cover seals

the car ran find for about 3 months but now the problem has come back starting on 5 cylinders then few secs back on to 6

if you have the coilpacks i need ill have them off you

if pm me or email me we can sort something out

  • 2 months later...

Could also be something as simple as oil leaking from your rocker covers and drowning your cyl. 6 plug, at the back end of the engine.
