hi,

in the yaris brochure it states on page 33 that the t-sport comes with a 'remote alarm with perimeter and microwave interior protection'. Sounds nice, but what is the perimeter all about and has anyone actuall got them?

I've bounced around in my car when the alarm is set (to familiarise myself with the sound of it) and nothing happened. I just seem to have double locking. doh!

Is this not uk spec?

There’s a little black box under the passenger side dash area with a small adjustable black rubber coated dial.

Maybe that (if turned up) would make the perimeter more sensitive?

so they do have it then. Wot axactly are they? does perimeter and microwave both relate to the interior?

 I'm pretty sure the perimeter is what goes off when someone tries to get in the car when its locked (for example) - as soon as it detects something on the perimeter/outside being tampered with then it'll set off. The microwave bit must be the interior I think...

The perimeter setting when you increase the sensitivity of the alarm activates a warning similar to the following:

"Please Step away from the vehicle or else face imminent peril"

Ok that sounds good. I've got the interior bit working. Just didn't wait long enough. It needs a min to set.

Not tried the perimeter thingy. Hopefully this will stop someone from using a screw driver to ripp the toyota Badge off the bonnet then? (a previous experience of mine!)

I'll look into it and hunt for this box some1 mentioned.
