:(

I would like your help in getting my front shock absorber changed. Yesterday I took it my local garage but he could not find easy access to the top bolts of the absorbers. He told me that the entire dashboard has to come off. Therefore it is a big job as well as electrical he advised me to take it to Toyota main dealer. Well since I have been well robbed off with this car I have not got any penny to spend any more.

Would you be so kind as to tell me how difficult is to change them. Can I do it my self? I am a good DIY. Is it really all the dashboard has to come in order tochange the front shocks? I don’t think so because it is ridiculous.

I look forward to hearing from you all very soon I hope.

Samil

My advice is to buy Haynes manual No. 2048 direct from www.Haynes.co.uk and read chapter 10.4, para 3... you will then be as enlightened as I am :bookworm: and will truly understand how wrong your garage mechanic was... :hokus-pokus:

Thereafter, the only really difficult part will be deciding which struts you want to fit  (there are quite a few aftermarket ones available from different stockists) and whether or not you want to replace the strut support plate (the one with the upper bearing in) at the same time...
