I,ve been in and around the toyota club seen for about 8 years, with the TEC club, and have been going to Billing for 4 of those years, and it looks like the organizers will not be doing it again:(, its just got to big, which is a big shame ,as it was the biggest and best jap car show in the UK, so next year looks like the !Removed! show could be the highlight of the year;)

well when i was there and talking to Sammy who organised it....she did say that if someone else would take it on,they would pass all the info to them,as of yet im not sure if another club has come forward to take it on..........im considering it with LOC....but need some serious help doing it........its a shame that the JAE may die off especially as it was our first year this one with the LOC and we made such a good entrance.

Hi,i think Sam Brown has had gut full of doing the show along with Will lightburn from the datsun club, its all got very big in the last two years, it would be a shame, but if you noticed this year, its now attracted the boy racer element , if you do take it on good luck to you, if you don't have grey hair now you will afterwards, haha;)

Hmmm. Boy Racers.

Shame, as before they got too involved it was a very good event. Now it's noisy and loutish particularly at night. The daytime is still as good as it ever was.

Then there's the missing persons (I wonder if he ever did turn up?) and the doughnuts on the grass. All a bit silly really.

This is also not the first time I've heard there might not be another one. But it still carries on.

Hi grottybags, (what a name !) the !Removed! show should get bigger next year, but for me living in kent, it was just a bit to far away , and it was no were near as good as billing .

PS i see your an Avensis man, that was the car i had last before i bought my SR celica, i had a 1.8 GLS auto saloon, in met green and i fitted a set of 15" alloys from the generation 6 celica 2.0GT, good car but in the end i just had to go back to a celica ,which i've owned about 14 so far:D

This year was my first JAE and I think it's be a real shame if it were to stop, I think we need more of these kind of events for different clubs to meet up and show -off their motors. But I think the boy racer element will eventually put the other guys off coming though which is a shame, we wouldn't want it to become like a Max Power cruise would we?

Maybe i'm just getting old :D

Carl - You and me both ;)

Bob - Avensis woman as it happens ;)

As for Billing, maybe TOC and LOC could do something there as a joint event should the JAE finish. The main boy racers I saw were the lot in the Nissan Pulsars. The Toyota and Lexus owners were much more civilised from what I saw ;)

I'm surprised to hear this as when I e-mailed Sam Brown after Billing the response I got was totally the oppsite to what I'm reading here. Dunno what's happened to change people's minds, but it looked like the current organisers were going ahead next year also. Any more info? Oh and apprently the venue was already booked for 2003!

Billing is going ahead as normal. I myself am one of the organisers of the event. So if anyone has any questions then please ask.

I shall be placing some news very shortly to all clubs and shall be launching a forum dedicated to JAE. Please bear with me. :)

That's great new about Billing, just one point, are the organisers going to be able to address the boy racer ( doughnut brigade ) next year:(.

yes we will... next year all cars that attend their own club will be sole reponsible of the club. So the person who takes control of that particular club will be responsible of there members.

If any members decide to play up then whole club will get escorted off the grounds. Kind of embarrising for them i would say.

We are also hiring security staff to attend throughout the whole evening!
