Huge load area going to waste in my 2000 rav. Damn door only opens so far, I reckon its due to a stupidly short door stay, but I can't find a longer one. Must be some sort of legislation to do with lights but I do NEED to load up my boot.

Can anyone suggest anything except cutting the stay?

ALSO am considering converting to duel fuel, has anybody got an lpg rav?

:help:

Yes your quite right it is a pain. But the good news is it can be fixed. Step one you need to talk to Sparkydog E-mail, sparkydog@fsmail.net. He can sort you out with an american spec door stay which will allow you to open your door to 90 deg.

He's a fantastic chap and you will get the part in a few days.

Secondly and it's your choice, Ive retro fitted two red LED's in my door connected to my boot light so they come on when the door is open. Sort of gets round the uk laws a bit. Other people i have spoken to just put reflective tape on.

Hope this helps.

I did this mod - part from Sparkydog as above - make a huge difference to the boot access - comes with very full fitting instructions - took me 15 mins max - I just fitted Halfords reflective 3M triangles to mine but I like the sound of the LED's - got any info. on how you did it please ?
